The artificially intelligent Data Guard automatically checks your uploaded data files for errors and mismatches. This gives you peace of mind knowing that all your suburbs and postcodes and addresses all matchup correctly.
DATA GUARD BENEFITS
The output from a software system is only as good as the data going in. Due to the nature of the data being entered into the system it can be easy to make a mistake and this can result in incorrect output.
For example, the postcode 2040 is completely different to the postcode 2004, but when entering many numbers or making corrections it would be easy to make a mistake here.
Data Guard is able to detect this mistake and bring it to your attention automatically each time you upload a new database to Store Finder using the administration panel.
The benefits of data guard are obvious; when your clients are searching for a postcode they will get relevant and precise results.
DATA GUARD FEATURES
Checks that the postcode is a proper three or four digit number
Checks that the postcode actually exists
Checks that the postcode matches the suburb name
Fuzzy logic avoids frustrating false-positives
Error reports are provided in a prioritised, colour-coded readout to aid corrections and save you time
Detected errors are referred to by the line number on which they appear in the uploaded spreadsheet, thus simplifying correction
Automatically detects and removes potentially troublesome characters, thus greatly improving look up reliability
DATA GUARD PROTECTS YOU
Data Guard was designed primarily for organisations with a large database of retail outlets which need to be maintained and updated on a regular basis.
We have found that no matter how vigilant and carefully the data has been entered into the database, mistakes tend to creep in, usually very small ones but that’s enough to make a difference.
The most common mistakes are incorrectly spelled suburb names and/or postcodes with one number out of place. These are only tiny and insignificant errors from a human perspective but from the computers rigid logical perspective it makes a huge difference to the final result.
Data Guard was created to help you identify these tiny oversights and correct them on the spot with a minimal amount of fuss.
Locations lists are often built from a variety of sources. Many programs can export their databases to Excel spreadsheets. Sometimes there is a lot of cutting and pasting involved in producing the Excel spreadsheet of locations.
Other times the spreadsheet data is exported from foreign operating systems and when all the data is assembled in the Excel spreadsheet it is filled with tiny invisible characters or formatting irregularities.
Such irregularities have been known to cause problems with Store Finder. Data Guard includes special software which cleans up these messy little characters automatically as soon as your spreadsheet is uploaded greatly improving the reliability of lookups.
